Min qualifying 90. Part A is the Tamil Eligibility cum Scoring Test, set in Tamil only (General English only for differently abled candidates granted exemption); score 40% (60 of 150) in it or Parts B and C are not evaluated. No negative marking.

The cutoff, in plain words

Selection often takes 140 to 190 of 300

How it screens: Minimum 90 of 300 to qualify, then direct ranking

The Part A gate: Score 40% in the Tamil test (60 of 150) or Parts B and C are not evaluated

There is no second stage. This one paper is the whole merit list. Cutoffs move with every year's paper and vacancies, and they differ by category and post. Read these as the level to beat, not a promise.

TNPSC Group 4 questions people ask

Is TNPSC Group 4 written exam hard?

The clock and the marking make it hard: 54 seconds a question. Practise under time from the first day and the paper stops being a surprise.

Can I prepare without coaching?

For written exam, yes, if you practise the way the paper scores: questions every day under time, every mistake understood, full papers on the clock.

Should I attempt all 200 questions?

Yes, every one. TNPSC Group 4 has no negative marking: a blank and a wrong answer score the same zero, so an educated guess can only help you.

Are these actual TNPSC Group 4 questions?

No. Every question is an original written to the TNPSC Group 4 pattern and level, and Play To Prepare is not connected to the Tamil Nadu PSC.

What is the biggest mistake in TNPSC Group 4 preparation?

Treating Tamil as a formality. Part A is a Tamil eligibility cum scoring test: score under 60 of 150 and Parts B and C are never evaluated, however good they are. Tamil is not the warm up here. It is the gate, and half your scoring surface.
